COMMON FUNCTIONS OF ALL SCHOOL DISTRICT EMPLOYEES All Staff Members: In general, all employees of the School District have these common functions: 1. To place the welfare of children first in importance in all school activities. 2. To be fair, courteous, and cooperative in all relationships with fellow teachers, pupils, parents and the public. 3. To be regular in attendance and in the avoidance of tardiness. Teachers are required to be in the building 15 minutes before school opens and 15 minutes after school closes. 4. To plan and organize work for maximum efficiency. 5. To make every effort to observe common-sense safety rules and regulations. 6. To contribute to a constantly improving educational program. 7. To be loyal to the school system, its policies and objectives. 8. To channel suggestions for improvement to those who have the responsibilities for that area and to do this in a pleasant, helpful manner. 9. To maintain high ethical standards in all relationships. 10. To strive for good public relations in all contracts. EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Health: The State of Illinois requires that every person, who is employed by a school system, must submit evidence of being free from tuberculosis and in satisfactory physical condition. A record of the same must be on file in the Personnel Department prior to the first day of work. Physical examinations and drug screenings are also required. Certificates: Each of your certificates must be properly registered in the office of the Superintendent of the Madison County Educational Service Region in Edwardsville after which they all original certificates must be filed in the District |
